I love co-op games, and what better way to spend your gaming time then fighting your way through a horde (or two) of ZOMBIES! My brother and I played through the first game and loved every seconded of it and L4D2 doesn’t fail to live up to the original.
This is one of our default go-to games when we can’t figure out what else to play. Don’t get me wrong the first one was great, but they have all the original content from L4D1 remade in L4D2, and the GORE, oh the gore is worth the upgrade. (>^.^)> Kirby approved.
Just started playing this one a couple weeks ago after my brother told me he got it. I loved the original Starsiege: Tribes, never really got into the second installment but Ascend is fairly addictive and worth a shot since you can download it for free.
They’ve adopted a Micro Transaction approach for this one and it seems to be doing quite well. This is my go-to game for everything Capture-the-Flag, since that’s the only mode I play when playing Tribes: Ascend!
star fox 64
One of my all time favourite games… of ALL-TIME. I loved Star Fox on the SNES so much that I put our little TV on a table, pulled up one of my parents good chairs, and used my triple-sided board from my science fair project to create a make shift cockpit (complete with blanket to cover it).
So no doubt when SF64 rolled around I was as giddy as a schoolgirl! I’m not overly fond of anything beyond this game as I believe they went to far with the “on-foot” battles.
Star Fox 64 remains one of… oh hell IS my favourite game of all-time and space and space-time! (>^.^)> Kirby freaking approved!
super mario rpg: legend of the seven stars
Another fav from the SNES. Didn’t even remember until a recent play through that there was only 30 levels. Not that that makes a difference, it’s still fun to run through the game, and I seem to be averaging about 1 every year or so.
Aside from Luigi, Super Mario RPG had it all. Mushrooms gave you HP, Mario could shoot Fireballs, and Bowser. That’s right, you team up with the freaking King of the Koopas in this epic adventure!
Yes, that is the USS Enterprise – NCC 1701-D. A good illustration as to why I love Minecraft. It’s freaking LEGO for your computer. Massively randomly generated worlds make every server you play on unique from the get-go. Even if you did find a server with the same map, the players on it shape how it evolves, literally, you can take a block from the bottom and put it on top, or vise versa.
You can create anything you can think of, then destroy it all with dynamite! Just like real LEGO! (>^.^)>
new super mario bros. wii
Fun on your own, great with the family, awesome at parties! The first time I played this game was at my friends place on new years eve. I think we missed the count-down, we drank, we play, we laughed our butts off. It has a great old-school feel to it, and the more the merrier I say in this game.
Guaranteed to put a smile on your face or a gut wrenching laugh when your friend falls to their death after bouncing off your head wrong!
mario kart 64
Great replay value here! My brother and I would run through the original on SNES, get to the end, delete and restart. Same goes for this installment. Another one of our games we like to play through at least once a year, while our N64 still works. We usually choose the light-weights for their quick acceleration, and all around cuteness.
Funny thing I find the 64 version more fun from all the shortcuts you can find, most notably the Star Road shortcut right out the gate! (>^.^)>
This one was difficult for me as I’ve been playing them since the original (my first copy was the SNES version). So I think I’m just going to lump them all together as I can’t really decide. I still go back to Sim City 1 now and then, I got Sim City on my iPad, I just found a patch to get my old Sim City 2K installation to work on Windows 7, and I can’t abandon my cities in 3000 or 4.
I’m constantly restarting cities, usually using some sort of money cheat, and just trying not to let the city go to crap. Over all I love ‘em all, and I can’t wait for Sim City 5 and building a city with my wife or brother.
super mario bros. 3
I love all the old Mario games, but 3 holds a special place in my heart. Fire-flower for fire power, Star for invincibility, Leaf for raccoon power, not just raccoon power but freaking flying-raccoon power! Not to mention Power-Wing for unlimited flying, Hammer suit for throwing Hammer Bros. hammers and you get their shell! Frog suit for precision swimming, and my personal favourite the Tanooki suit for the full on Bear/Raccoon in all of us, oh and don’t forget it lets you turn to stone!
Then there’s the Shoe suit… for you know… being a shoe. What a great game! Kirby! (>^.^)>
You might have needed that little memory upgrade for the N64 to play the co-op but that’s the main reason I love this game. I loved Golden Eye 007 and maybe it should have an honourable mention but since I’m a co-op guy, that put this game 1up in my books. (See what I did there?)
What’s more fun then trying to stealth through a level? Going stealth through a level with a friend! I even remember clearing a room and saying “Clear!” so my brother could enter without fear, or vise versa.
Kirby loves fond memories. (>^.^)>
